My Current Favorite Safer Beauty Finds

Wednesday, August 1, 2018

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I've never been a product or makeup person. It wasn't until I started using good quality products that began having fun with products. My favorite brand, Beautycounter (of course), has recently been coming out with some products that I'm loving and I have a couple other new brands I'm trying too!

The safety of personal care products is most important, then I look at performance. When buying new products, I always compare the ingredients to Beautycounter's Never List, which is a great tool whether you use Beautycounter or not. Keep one in your wallet for your next Target run.

Okay, now on to my newest beauty finds!

Jasons Toothpaste

Blake has deemed this his favorite toothpaste ever, and I have to agree! Jason toothpaste it free from sulfates, triclosan, and artificial flavors and colors (all things you want to look out for in toothpaste), and I love how it makes my teeth and mouth feel so clean!

Beautycounter Velvet Eyeshadow Palette in Classic

I've used Beautycounter's former powder makeup and their new powders have blown me away! I just received this the Velvet Eyeshadow Palette in Classic and love the colors, performance, and payoff of the powders! I hardly ever wear makeup, but that may change now that I have this palette! I especially appreciate the lengths that Beautycounter goes to ensure there are little to no levels of heavy metals in their color cosmetics, which is something you need to watch out for in makeup.

Beautycounter Illuminating Cream Highlighter in Pearl Glow

I'm a big fan of Beautycounter's Cream Blush, so when the Cream Highlighter came out, I knew I had to give it a try! It's easy to apply (no brush) and is moisturizing, just like the cream blush. It gives my face a perfect, subtle glow. I can imagine paring this with my Dew Skin tinted moisturizer, Cream Blush, and Volumizing mascara for a simple no-makeup look.

Mabrook & Co. Clean Dry Shampoo

Finally, a safer dry shampoo I love! Aerosol dry shampoo was one of the hardest things for me to let go of when I switched to safer products because I used it all the time. I've tried a couple safer dry shampoos, but they haven't wowed me. This one is a winner in my book! I love the smell and how well it works. Up until I ordered this, I was using cornstarch, which worked somewhat but was hard to apply and didn't work that well. A runner up would be Primally Pure's Dry Shampoo.

What healthy products have you been loving lately?

  1. I'm glad to see a "safer" beauty list, because I do think that's an important thing. I feel like I need to get that toothpaste!

  4. My favorite healthy product currently is my Native Deodorant - I use Coconut & Vanilla, and I've tried the seasonal Fig & Honey (which I LOVED).
