Good morning! Here's another round of daily eats featuring my eats from Tuesday, which was a full day for us!

Before I dive in, I want to say that these posts are not for comparison. Rather they are here to provide inspiration for your eats and give you freedom to listen to your body and enjoy good food, as I am learning to do.

I usually wake up hungry in the morning (even if I am full/satisfied when I go to bed), and since I like to exercise in the morning, I'll grab a small snack, plus water and a shot of raw apple cider vinegar. My go-to snack is some clusters of Trader Joe's Almond Butter Granola (love this stuff! It has so many big clusters). Eating before a workout is something new for me. In the past I was afraid to eat more than I "should." However, now I focus on having enough energy to do the things I want to do, like exercise. This morning snack has helped so much!

After my quick workout, I got cleaned up and had breakfast. Tuesdays I have to leave for nannying at 7:30, so I try to have something quick in the morning. The night before I prepped overnight oats in an almost-empty sunbutter jar, so in the morning I just had to add toppings, pour some coffee, and I was set! Into my the jar went 1/3 cup each old-fashioned oats, milk, and whole milk plain yogurt, pinch of salt, cinnamon, 1 TB chia seeds, and 1/2 mashed banana. In the morning, I topped it with frozen berries, the rest of the banana, some more sunbutter, and granola. There are many different recipes for overnight oats, but this is my go-to.

Then I was off to nanny my sweet, little 7 month-old dear. It was a beautiful day, and I was craving some more coffee, so by 10am we bundled up and walked a couple blocks down to Federal Donuts for some coffee. This place makes AMAZING hot, fresh donuts that I sometimes get on Tuesdays, but today I just wanted coffee. It's interesting how now that I've been allowing donuts back into my life, I don't crave them all the time. I know that if I want one, I can have it and enjoy it freely - intuitive eating at work.


By the time Harper went down for a nap at 12:45, I was ready for lunch. While I heated my sandwich up in the toaster oven, I snacked on a few Terra Vegetable Chips (these are so good)! Lunch included a sandwich with turkey, cheddar, avocado, and greens on Whole Foods Italian bread and veggies and apple on the side. I go through phases with sandwiches. I used to eat them all the time, but recently salads have been more satisfying. This sandwich hit the spot, though!


While Harper napped, I got a couple hours of Beautycounter work in and grabbed a quick snack at 3:00 before she woke up. I haven't gotten Lara Bars in forever, but grabbed a couple at the store this week. The peanut butter chocolate chip and chocolate chip cookie dough are my favorite, and I like to refrigerate mine before eating. I'm on the search for a good granola bar/energy bar - what are your favorites?


Once baby was up, I went into full nanny mode for the next couple of hours. We ventured out again to take the dog on a walk, but spent most of the time feeding and playing.

After work, I dashed to meet up with Blake for a tax appointment (woohoo). We had to wait about 30min, and I was hungry so I snacked on a small handful of peanut m&m's in the waiting area. I haven't had these in forever, and they were so good!


After a 10 hour day of nannying and working on taxes, I was ready for a glass of wine and chill time. we swung by the store, picked up a bottle of white, and finally made it home after 7:30. Once home, we chatted with my sister and brother-in-law (who we live with) and I snacked on some Trader Joe's plantain chips. We all ended up eating dinner together, which we rarely do, but need to do more! Dinner came together quick thanks to weekend meal prep! I made a salad with greens, rotisserie chicken, roasted beats, feta, avocado, pecans, and balsamic and olive oil, plus a delicious glass of a white blend.




After dinner, we sat around the table and drank tea (scotch for Blake) and ate some Swiss chocolates. Not long after that, we got ready for bed and I was out like a light.

Looking back on this day, there were a lot of little snacks here and there, which may not seem like a big deal. However, not that long ago I never steered away from my 3 meals and 2 snacks a day. Through intuitive eating and learning to trust my body, I've realized that it's not always that cut and dry. Some days we are more hungry or we have to wait longer to eat a meal, so extra snacks are needed. Some days I may not make the most intuitive decision, but intuitive eating isn't about perfection, it's about listening to your body and giving yourself grace and love.

  1. Thank you for sharing!! I love reading your blog posts and getting a glimpse of your world :) It’s really helped me! Recently I’ve gotten into Rx bars — they’re a bit chewy, but they are filling, made with real ingredients, and leave me feeling energized :) Sometimes if I’m only a bit hungry, I have half and wrap up the other half for later!

  2. This was so interesting,Katherine! You have given me some new ideas for meals and snacks. Though I try to eat well, my diet often lacks creativity. You have always stretched me to think a little more broadly and so you are again. I still have yet to make overnight oats. It’s not that complicated! Thanks for sharing. Love you, Mom

  4. Target has a lot of Larabar flavors. Lemon and pecans are great. I love Kind bar as well.
